Humanitarian Aid Guernsey successfully delivered the aid where is needed most to Mariupol & Izyum City
PCK Przemyśl checked the delivery was safe for re-distribution in Ukraine.
With the support of a UK Partner, Howard Tenens, we were able to take 26 pallets of aid to Poland.
A larger scale of operations needed to be formulated to assist with the amount of items donated by the community. The Co-operative generously donated the old Homemaker location to create the depot system which we have perfected and use today.
After discovering that a number of children in various Polish charities were requiring Nebulisers, a campaign for donations went out on Social Media and various media platforms. 5 were kindly donated ( 1 from St John's Healthcare Shop and 4 from Julius Baer.
The Constables of St Peter Port gratefully offered a space within their offices to collect and sort donations for onward sending,
With the assistance of the very helpful team at Guernsey Registry, we were able to file the documents to become a Registered Charity in quick succession.
Capturing the hearts of Islanders our first collection of aid was transported to Poland for onward distribution to Ukraine
Natalia organised for the First Donation Drop Off Location to be easily accessible on the High St. The old Land of Green Ginger shop served as an excellent location for the First Donation Drop Off.
Guernsey Post offered to assist in sending packages to Ukraine free of charge
